Blue Dragon – Of Seconds and Thirds

Blue Dragon: Ral Grad is a mangaka printed in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from December 2006 to July 2007. It followed the 2006 role playing video and computer game "Blue Dragon" which in Japan became a top seller almost overnight. Viz Media released the series in USA in 2008 calling it "Ral Grad". Tokyopop published it in Germany 2007/2008. Takeshi Obata (Artist) and Tsuneo Takano (Writer) tell the story of Ral who has spent most of his time imprisoned due to his being posessed by the Mighty Blue Dragon. At 15 he is released and his first deed is to revenge himself on his father. Takeshi Obata then dedicates an impressive "spalsh page" to Ral’s next discovery: Women!!! But hey! This is not what it’s all about! His job ist to protect mankind from the darkness of the Shadow World – of which he himself is a most advanced result. Takeshi Obata’s energetic panels tell the story of his adventures to come: fighting demons and killing all kinds of monsters.
