The most highly anticipated film of the year 2015 - Star Wars: The Force Awakens has invited fans in Mexico City to a fan screening and Q&A this week.
The screening took place before the official world premiere in Los Angeles which is scheduled for December 14th - and the film's opening at cinemas worldwide. The fan screening comes as a big surprise, as Disney - prior to the "big night" - had announced to screen the film for selected journalists only.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for official release on December 17th in the UK and December 18th in the U.S. Since its first teaser trailer in November 2014, a behind-the-scenes featurette was released at Comic-Con in July 2015 and Disney has unveiled few trailers. The plot however mostly remains a secret, therefor speculations about heroes and developments are running high.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is expected to become 2015’s highest-grossing film. It could even smash the world record for biggest global box-office opening weekend. Two months prior to its release The Force Awakens had already accumulated ticket sales worth 6.5 Million Dollars in the U.S. But expectations are also running high in Europe and the rest of the world. The chances for a new opening night world-record are excellent: Guesses are that The Force Awakens might make 600 Million US$ on its opening weekend alone.
