It's been 18 years since Germany based BLITZ-Verlag set out on a special project. To bring German phantastic literature to a larger audience. Classics like Larry Brent or Macabros have been reprinted ever since and after a break of 35 Years "Die Schwarze Fledermaus" (The Black Bat) has been revived with a number of new texts. Crime novels, thrillers and mysteries usually restricted to rare and expensive antiquarian issues are also frequently published as limited collector's editions.
Plus a number of new relesases are also part of the programme, and believe it or not: Legendary Sherlock Holmes is frequently solving new crimes here! German writers like Klaus-Peter Walter, J.J. Preyer, Roman Sanders or Ronald M. Hahn -- to name just a few -- bring the famous sleuce to life once again. The books come as classy hardcover editions, pulp paperbacks or trade paperback and carry titles like: "SHERLOCK HOLMES UND DIE ZEITMASCHINE" (Sherlock Holmes and the Time Machine) by Ralph E. Vaughan, or "SHERLOCK HOLMES UND DER WERWOLF" (Sherlock Holmes and the Werewolf) by Klaus-Peter Walter. What Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would say about that!? It probably will remain undeduced.
